Kalen Oil on Canvas 24”x30” 2025
Image 1: An example of a potential option from our reference photo session. Looking back, in retrospect, I probably would’ve chosen an option like this because I think it more accurately represents the character being painted. But, at the time, I was fresh off a trip to Scotland and wanted to paint posh portraits.
Image 2-5: Process photos. Breaking the image down piece by piece allows me to focus on individual sections and streamline the detail without having to go back to it over and over again.
Image 6: Final portrait.
Cost: $1000 (Kalen didn’t pay me for this piece as it was a gift to his mother — it was more of an experiment/ practice piece. The cost attributed to this painting is to show what a painting of this detail, size, and subject matter would cost).
